Special conference on Environment Movement and Organization7

Format of the conference

BAPA-BEN conferences usually have two types of sessions, namely ‘Expert Sessions’ and ‘General Sessions.’ Expert Sessions are meant for presentation and discussion of papers presented by experts on the subjects. General Sessions are meant for discussions that are not limited to experts and need not be based on scientific papers, and in which activists, public representatives, policy makers, and others can take a greater part. Given the nature of the agenda presented above, most of the sessions of this conference will be of General Session type. However, the session on research on BAPA, BEN, and Bangladesh environment movement can take the form of an Expert Sessions. Written papers and submissions can be presented in other sessions too, depending on the need and availability. COC will look for one fully purposed write up from the experts and activists for each of the sessions to pave the way for a better organized discussion. In any situation, extensive scope will be ensured for the participatory discussions by the participants in general.

In pursuance of the traditional character, BAPA-BEN Conference will be open to all sorts of registered participants. A call for registration will be circulated in time.

Conference dates

The extensive agenda suggests that the conference has to last at least two days. It is therefore proposed to be held on January 3-4 (Friday-Saturday). Since these are the weekend days, hopefully they will be free from hartal calls.
