Leto

Leto is a popular folk drama found in the districts of Bardhaman, Murshidabad an some places of Hooghly in West Bengal. Both men and women perform in Leto. Leto is a folk theatre where social, economic and day to day activities are performed in humorous ways through comedy. The participants are usually illiterate agriculturalists who in their leisure period after the harvest performs Leto. There is no written form in Leto. The Leto artists have great excellence in composing extempore dialogues an relevant issues. Ten members comprise of a group for performance. Districts are Bardhaman, Murshidabad, Hooghly.
Harakumar Gupta is one of the Leto Master and it is a privilege to saw him in the stage. He is an octogenarian.
